It Power Hosts India Side Event At Global Offshore Wind Conference
On Wednesday 11th June 2014, IT Power hosted a side event workshop, at RenewableUK's Global Offshore Wind conference, entitled: INDIAN OFFSHORE WIND - A NEW EMERGING MARKET. This workshop was intended to improve the awareness of the nascent offshore wind industry in India and to facilitate business-to-business collaborations between UK and Indian stakeholders on offshore wind. The event introduced the potential for offshore wind in India and allowed attendees to explore opportunities for UK-India commercial partnerships within India's emerging market. During the event the Alok Srivastava, the Joint Secretary of the Government of India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy presented key features of India's offshore wind policy and its proposed governing bodies. Mr K. Boopathi, Head of Wind Resource Assessment at the Indian Centre for Wind Energy Technology presented the potential of the Indian offshore wind market. Vidya Soundarajan, from the British High Commission, New Delhi, presented the UK Government's involvement in the developing Indian sector and demonstrated the potential, future opportunities for British organisations to be involved in India. The workshop concluded with a discussion about the future growth of the industry and networking with key Indian stakeholders. This workshop was part of the UK FCO funded project on the UK-India Offshore Wind Co-Operation.
